Todays events!
Todays big event here at our complex. A little boy went missing. 6 cop cars flooded our parking lot, and soon people went door to door searching for him... not long after he was found visiting another apartment. Even though it may seem like its not a big deal, (because he wasn't missing that long) it must have been super scary for the parents, especially if they had looked long enough with no luck and then having to go to desperate measures by calling the cops to help find him! I felt bad because having a kid, I can kind of feel for what they went through. Of course I don't know it to the extend that family now knows it to...and hopefully I never will!
As for my eventful day, I was in the house doing paper work all day. We are trying to get Jeff's green card so that he will have permanent residence here in the States. It is a lot of paper work to do, and very time consuming. Fingers crossed it will all go through quickly and smooth so that we can get the go ahead to go back to Canada to work on the 7 week break. Mainly Jeff will be working, and me and Nixon will be livin' it up at the cabin! No worries though, we will let Jeff join us for a weekend..or two! ;)

Fun filled weekend!
We had an eventful past weekend!
THURSDAY - On Thursday night me and Jeff raced to Idaho Falls to take Nixon to Aunt Debs house so that me and Jeff could have a nice date night. We went out to a movie - Something borrowed - It. sucked. Normally I love Kate Hudson movies but this one...total disaster. It gave you like a sick feeling as you watched it, and the ending...well thats time that we will never get back! Waste of time and money, but it was fun to hang out with my Jeffrey, and after we grabbed us some ice cream!
Date night = some what successful.
FRIDAY - Golfing! Aunt Deb and Uncle Pat treated Jeffrey to a round of golfing at their country club. Jeff was super excited he LOVES golfing... and it currently isn't in the budget so we are super grateful that Deb and Pat could take him to have some fun. Me and Nixon got to ride in the golf cart together! Nixon was great he slept for most of the time, but during the back nine he woke up, and we partied in the cart! I was thinking since the golf cart had a top on it that I wouldn't get a sunburn...wow am I an amateur or what?! I got fried!! Jeff too! Nixon however, still a whitey and I plan on keeping it that way for a while!
SATURDAY - Aunt Deb is a Realtor and works for Keller Williams in Idaho Falls. They were a sponsor to a marathon/half marathon/10K and 5K run, so she was helping to guide the runners different directions. To be blunt...it was not thought out well at all the course of the runners, they were coming from different directions and we were on a T-intersection, so we had to pick out the numbers to know which runners were going what way, which was confusing enough because runners started coming from the wrong way!!! However, on top of that the T intersection was in the middle of a huge soccer tournament so it was super busy with vehicles. We had our work cut out for us thats for sure! However it was fun to help out and cheer on the runners! I did put sun screen on this day, however we were in the sun for like a solid 5 hours...so my sun burn was killing me! I am however really glad that I put some on because Jeff didn't and his sun burn was red for a lot longer than mine. hahaha! After the marathon event, we had to rush back to Rexburg so that Jeff could go to the dodge ball game at BYU-Idaho. They are trying to break the world record for the largest Dodge ball game and Jeff got talked onto the committee however, this semester was a total flop. They only had 400-500 students and last semester they had 1100.... Currently University of Alberta (in Edmonton) holds the world record so even though it would be cool if BYUI beat it... I would rather have Albertans have it!
SUNDAY - I think I had a hint of sun stroke. I felt so sick and had no energy! Jeff and Nixon went off to church together and left me home to ... well I won't give you my sick details. Anyways, later that day (after sleeping like 20 hours!) we went over to Dane and Hilary's house for a pot luck dinner. We got to meet new people, and we had a lot of fun! I think Dane and Hilary are a lot of fun, and hopefully we will have more pot lucks in the future!!
Anyways, this weekend was a blast! We had lots going on, but it was really nice.

Lately...
Moving to Rexburg and adjusting was A LOT easier than when we made the switch to Hill Spring. The only issue with Hill Spring is that you seemed so secluded from everything, and when moving from a big city like Calgary, that took some getting used to. However, we fell in love with Hill Spring! We miss our friends a lot, and being close to our family even more! Jeff has an Aunt out here Idaho, she lives about half an hour away, but we haven't gotten a chance to see her yet, but hopefully soon!!!
Ahhh... what can we say about our new Town of Rexburg....
It is a lot larger than our last "village" was...
We have a larger option of friends! (Which I love!)
There isn't an abundance of spiders in the house we live in. (Finally!)
There are stores close by, which can be a bad thing for sure....but I love that I can think "ooo I would love some strawberries!" and not have to plan a grocery trip in advance to go and get some, I just go...and 5 minutes later I've got them! Its awesome!
We are settling in quite nicely, and I am really starting to like it here. We have met new people, made new friends, and enjoyed the time so far. Jeff is enjoying school (for the most part)! Says that "it is much better than Mount Royal" which I am happy to hear! Nixon also likes it here...he talk about it all the time....we think.... well he is happy pretty much anywhere, as long as he can sleep when he needs to!
In the past couple of weeks we had a chance to go to Utah to see some family. We stayed with my brother Blake and his wife Brita and their daughter Sadie. I love that we live so close because I would love to get closer with my family. We had a blast staying there! They live right near the Salt Lake Temple, so we got to go through a session with them while we were there. I think it is really neat to go through the temple with family and friends. We know that we have things in common, but to be able to do something so important as temple work together is just so neat! We saw Brock while we were in Utah, and me his girlfriend...her name is Kayla.... it is kind of weird that we have the same name...in fact we had a lot of things in common but we wont get into that now.
Also, the lots of other people we got to see were..... Teralee and Jaime (which I was SO stoked on!), very pregnant Fallon (due any day now), Brice, and Claire (so cute!), Beth and Brennan and their two cute little kids, Mckay and Evelyn. Hilary in her gorgeous wedding dress and her husband Dane at their wedding reception. So it was a lot of people in a short trip. Next time we will go and see some more family like my Aunt, some more cousins and my Grandparents.
Anyways, I will post some videos ASAP! So keep checking in, I am getting better at blogging I promise!

Nixon can officially roll over!!!
I was SO excited when I finally caught Nixon rolling over! I knew he could do it, but it seemed like he only did it when I left the room until one night I kept putting him on his tummy, and he just kept rolling right over!
Here is a video! My first video post yet!!! :)
just an FYI - my voice is not that lame in my head lol I think its so weird how what you hear when you talk, and when you hear it recorded is WAY different...

Rexburg!
We decided to move our family (all 3 of us! haha) to Rexburg so that Jeff could go to school to become a teacher! He has now completed his first week and so far is liking it. I on the other had take much longer to adjust to anything! I just need some friends to hang out with so that I do not go crazy. Now that we are all settled in I will pretty much be on a friend hunt! I am hoping to really like this place - so hopefully we find some friends soon so that I can like it sooner! I love my family and all....but sometimes me and Nixon need a break from each other and sometimes me and Jeff need a few more people so that our conversations stay exciting, and so that games last longer than a few minutes haha.
Anyways, here are a few pictures of us here in Rexburg!
