"Wonder woman"

I always think I can take things on. Usually I do a pretty great job. I feel that since I worked full time, attended school full time (getting amazing grades) while have 2 kids (one being a newborn), and kept my house clean and everything working that I can do it all.
I guess I keep my stress levels fairly high because I always am doing a lot. This is my last semester of school. A full load, 14 credits (I am not sure if credits are the same in Canada, but 12 credits is a full time student). Not to mention they are 400 level classes, the highest in the bachelors degree. It's a lot.
It gets overwhelming, but I keep ahead in my school work, a few weeks if I can, and that helps. Especially since I only have 2 somewhat quiet hours a day to do my school work Monday through Friday.
Scratch that, now I only have 1 1/2 hours a day.
Why?
I decided to watch this little boy. He has kind of a rough family life, so I thought it would be a great idea to make a difference for him. He comes over at 6AM.... I convinced Jeff to get up for 6AM, then I get up at 7AM so Jeff can leave for work. It is still hard because I hate mornings! This week has been a long one.....
However last week I read a blog post from someone I do not know. She talked about stay at home moms (SAHM.. who makes that into an acronym??). Anyways, how those moms who stay home just complain all of the time. When we are so blessed to raise our own children and actually get to see them grow. It made me think. I am really lucky, I get to see everything my kids go through, I am there for all of the hugs and kisses, but I am also here for all of the temper tantrums, fighting, screaming and crying.
Lots of days I feel like I am being defeated, but that blog made me realize that its my job. I love being home with my kids. I am so blessed that my husband wants me to stay home.  A lot of mothers do not get the support that I do to stay home with the kids. I'm super lucky, and realizing that has made me so much happier!

So, now my jobs are full time school, full time Mom and "home maker" and full time babysitter. I love it though, and I am so glad that I can make a difference in these little kids lives. Is it hard to get anything done with 3 kids surrounding my legs for hours a day, holy moly yes! I wouldn't change it though. I just need more patience. Also, the time I get to do school work or relax... I get a lot done because I know I do not have much time. I really enjoy it though because it gives me a challenge and I love a challenge.

A few weeks ago we ordered some superhero capes for our children. Superman and Superwoman. Instead of superman we got a wonder woman cape. I was a little annoyed about the whole situation (mainly since they wanted me to pay shipping twice for their own mistake!). Anyways, I was telling Jeff how I feel like no one even knows wonder woman or likes her. He said he loves wonder woman because he thinks I am wonder woman. He does not know how I "do it all." I am glad he sees my worth and that I work hard.

Anyways, here is some of the highlights of my past few weeks!

We have been going on bike rides now that it is cooling down.

Has anyone ever seen the youtube video of this? We live by it, I thought it was super cool to see it in real life! See it here here

Buffalo Wild Wings with the Kiddos!

My G+G Salmon came for a night! Fun to talk with them and get their advice!

Playing in the backyard.

Play date with Collin. They are only a few months apart and have a lot of fun together!

Went to the Pumpkin Patch!

Mainly they had bouncy houses, but they had 2 rides that Nixon could go on!

Little petting zoo. Nixon got to feed a few of the animals.

Some of our friends! :)

It was super hot, but so much fun!

Our favorite park!

Cheese ball!

Halloween PJ's!

Little Gangster.

Love their character blankets!

Something really sad happened last week in our home. Melvin was in an accident.... :(
Nixon was quite sad to see that we had to let him go, we loved Melvin and he was the first Valentines present Jeff ever got me, so he has been around for a while. He was also mad at Oakley because she was kind of the reason why his face was all smashed. RIP Melvin.

October means no more splash parks

Well. It's October.....
and I LOVE October!

Today I had a good day with the kids. A great day in fact. Though they got up early (7:30...yawn) I laid in bed until they were allowed to come out of their room (8am). It is so fun to listen to them interact with one another. They sleep in the same room. Most night. Unless Nixon gets banished to the guest room for jumping off of his bed or keeping Oakley awake. Recently it has been more nights in the quest room. He hates it. Its dark and he's alone. However it was a genius idea for us because it is quite the bargaining tool. Anyways, this morning the kids talked and laughed as I laid in bed for just a few more minutes before I had to get up and never sit still until bedtime.
We went out to the park with some friends. But guess what? Its October and the splash parks are now CLOSED. :( Well, the city ones at least. Ours in our complex was still open today. So we went to the park twice today. Two different parks so we could meet our needs. It kept the kids busy being out of the house. It exhausted out Oakley. But not Nixon, that kid is a road runner I tell you. He can just go and go and go. Maybe more like the energizer bunny....but you get my point.
I even tried to get him to do some Zumba with me at home to get him a little more tired. It made me a lot more tired as I danced away while holding my 22 pound weight aka Oakley. However it made her giggle, and that's my job as a Mom. It is also my payment as a Mom, so when I can get the giggles I just cash them in! It makes the day a good day, and we had lots of them today. That's what made it a good day with the kids today.

However, these past few weeks has been sucky. Stressful, exhausting, and full of whinny children. I felt like just exploding so that I could get everything out of my pot that was just bubbling for days. The kids have been very needy, and I have been busy with doctors appointments, school and other things going on which I do not know if I feel up to exposing quite yet.... Nothing bad or good. Just decisions and trails clouding up my days. But as hard as the days are I have these shinning moments when I have lots of fun with my kids. We just giggle and have a great time. They might be the ones holding me back sometimes, but they are also the ones to push me forward when I most need it.
Here are a few pictures to sum up what I mean....

Isn't she just the most precious thing you have ever seen? She melts my heart in a way that no one else can. I am sure Nixon had the same effect when he was younger and a little less of a wise ass. Sorry for my language... but anyone else who has ever had a smart 3 year old probably understands what I am saying. He thinks he knows everything. I can tell you this.. I do not look forward to his teenage years if he is already like this! He just takes everything so literally. Don't get my wrong its not all bad. He is very smart. He knows his alphabet, all the sounds, quite a few sight words and knows a lot about a lot of other things too thanks to all of his questions. But sometimes having a smart 3 year old has it down sides too. He remembers EVERYTHING, will not let anything go, and questions you on the slightest changes that you make until you wish you never changed anything!
I love my Nixon. He challenges me everyday, keeps me on my toes and makes sure to always tells me he loves me and makes sure he gives me hugs and kisses. He is a sweetheart, just a very vocal one. And he is sure handsome!

We had his Joy School here at our house this past week. He loves Joy School aka preschool. There are 5 of them in the class. 3 girls and 2 boys. One of the girls is quite young and I am not sure if she really enjoys joy school, but hopefully she will change and get a little more into it.

Jeff and I have gone on TWO dates this past month! Temple night and then to Katy Perry!!! Jeff got me tickets to Katy Perry for my birthday and I had to wait months, but it was way worth the wait. She was amazing because she puts on an incredible show!

Trying our some frozen yogurt at a place close to our house. I love treating the kids, they are so fun!

Doctors appointment with the kids. They were pretty good, especially for how long we were there. ALSO notice the Halloween shirts? We are kicking in October in high gear here (OK so we started September 30th) I love Halloween and October, and the kids are going to love it too!

And again we went out for some ice cream, they are practicing their licking haha

Anyways, I am excited for October it is going to be a blast! Hopefully (if the days are good) I will keep you in on what is going on!

Kids say the funiest things!

My little Nixon is such a character!

Today when we got back to our home Nixon says to me:

Nixon: Mom how was the Doctor?

Me: Good

Nixon: Was he nice, did you have fun?

Me: Yes, he was nice. Maybe not fun I did get a needle.

Nixon: What?? That was nice of him Mom.

Me: Why?

Nixon: Because getting needles keeps you healthy, right? Like the needles me and Oakley get, it keeps me and Oakley healthy. You want to be healthy right Mommy?

Me: I guess you right buddy.

Nixon: So what else did you do there, are you ok?

Me: Yes Nixon, thanks buddy.

Nixon: I am glad Mom, what would I do without my little buddy?

HAHAAH I just about died! He just kept asking me about my day while he was being watched by our good friend. Then he called me his little buddy haha, he really watches me and follow what I do.

A few minutes of silence passed and

Nixon: Mom; I didn't sneeze, cough or burp at Abigail's house. Because that would be rude.

I am so glad that he actually listens to what I say because I am always telling him to stop burping and farting and picking his nose. I am not sure where the sneezing and coughing came in on there though?!

This is our new little table that the kids got from Grandma Kenly. They LOVE IT! We had Grandma and Grandpa come and visit for a week. The kids absolutely loved it! More pics of their stay below...

Recently I got bangs back. One morning I was doing my hair, and I just felt nope I need to go get bangs cut back in!

So here are a few pics when Jeffs parents where here.
Jeff and Terry had some chocolate covered Bacon.

We went out for Ice Cream and Oakley LOVES her ice cream!

Found this cute pink polka dot cow!

Oakley again eating ice cream!

Up on the Eiffel tower of Las Vegas

Jeff and I got to go on a date. Went went to go and see KA the cirque de soleil. It was good, but O was still better. This one had a slow start, but ended up fairly good.

Nixon started Joy School and he LOVES it! He comes home saying he had the best day ever, and I think he is getting more comfortable with me dropping him off and leaving him for a little bit because  when I left him at our friends today to go to the doctor he said he was fine. He used to pretty much always cry. I am so glad my little boy is growing up! He is so fun and too smart for his own good!

Well that is it for now.
